These energetic fish are great for small tanks, with a general guideline of two fish per gallon of tank space. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to enhance your existing setup, Zebra Danios are a vibrant, low-maintenance choice.
GloFish® Zebra Danios are social creatures that do best in groups of five or more. When kept in shoals, they exhibit more natural behaviors and are less likely to become stressed. Watching their shimmering movements as they interact, chase, and weave through aquatic plants or decorations can be incredibly calming and captivating.
If you're looking to add motion, color, and fun to your tank, they are a perfect choice. They're small, sturdy, and full of personality—just like living confetti.

Set-Up Your Tank
- Make sure it all works: We suggest your tank be set-up for at least 24 hours before ordering fish to ensure all equipment is working.
- Use a heater: GloFish® fish enjoy tropical temperatures of 76-80F.
- Make Them Shine Their Brightest: GloFish® fish absorb light and then re-emit it, so their unique fluorescent colors will appear brighter and more vibrant as the amount of light is increased. So the more blue light you have the more your fish will shine!
Add Your Fish
- Follow this acclimation guide to make sure they adjust to their new home.
Feed Your Fish
- Feed two to three times daily, in small amounts, only as much as your fish can eat in a minute or so.
- Danios, tetras, and barbs GloFish Special Flake food or GloFish® MicroCrisp Food
- GloFish® Sharks and Cory Catfish need GloFish® Wafers.
- Treat all your fish to GloFish® Daphnia Treat that aids in digestion.

Temperature Delays: Fish are sensitive to high and low temperatures. To ensure your fish make the journey safely, we reserve the right to hold orders until the temperatures are safe for their arrival. This generally means no overnight temps of less than 32°F (40°F for barbs).
