Bushy Nose Pleco

The Bushy Nose Pleco is an excellent addition to any aquarium, known for its unique appearance and helpful behavior. This hardy fish is a superb algae eater, feeding on leftover food and algae. Its distinctive bristles, which develop on its nose as it matures, give the Bushy Nose Pleco a fascinating look.

Typically, the Bushy Nose Pleco grows to a maximum size of around 6 inches. However, in most home aquariums, it seldom exceeds 4 inches. Upon arrival, regular-sized fish are about 1-2 inches, while medium-sized ones are approximately 2-2.5 inches. For optimal health, supplement their diet with  GloFish® Wafers.

This peaceful pleco is a great companion for community tanks. You’ll often see it grazing on surfaces in search of food. The Bushy Nose Pleco not only helps keep your tank clean but also adds an intriguing visual element with its bristled appearance.

Note: Companion fish do not fluoresce, but they make a great addition to a community tank.

Set-Up Your Tank

• Make sure it all works: We suggest your tank be set-up for at least 24 hours before ordering fish to ensure all equipment is working.
• Use a heater: GloFish® fish enjoy tropical temperatures of 76-80F.
• Make Them Shine Their Brightest: GloFish® fish absorb light and then re-emit it, so their unique fluorescent colors will appear brighter and more vibrant as the amount of light is increased. So the more blue light you have the more your fish will shine!

Feed Your Fish

• Feed two to three times daily, in small amounts, only as much as your fish can eat in a minute or so.
• Danios, tetras, and barbs GloFish Special Flake food or GloFish® MicroCrisp Food
• GloFish® Sharks and Cory Catfish need GloFish® Wafers.
• Treat all your fish to GloFish® Daphnia Treat that aids in digestion.
