Upside Down Catfish

The Upside Down Catfish is a fascinating and unique addition to any aquarium. Reaching only about 3 inches at full size, this small catfish is best known for its unusual habit of swimming upside down—a natural behavior that helps it forage for food along the water’s surface and beneath leaves or décor.

These fish enjoy having plenty of places to hide, such as caves, driftwood, and live or artificial plants, which help them feel secure and encourage natural behaviors. Peaceful by nature, Upside Down Catfish do well in community aquariums and coexist comfortably with a variety of other species.

Easy to care for and adaptable, they accept a varied diet and make a fun, rewarding choice for both new and experienced fish keepers looking to add something a little different to their tank.

Note: Companion fish do not fluoresce, but they make a great addition to a community tank.

Set-Up Your Tank

• Make sure it all works: We suggest your tank be set-up for at least 24 hours before ordering fish to ensure all equipment is working.
• Use a heater: GloFish® fish enjoy tropical temperatures of 76-80F.
• Make Them Shine Their Brightest: GloFish® fish absorb light and then re-emit it, so their unique fluorescent colors will appear brighter and more vibrant as the amount of light is increased. So the more blue light you have the more your fish will shine!

Feed Your Fish

• Feed two to three times daily, in small amounts, only as much as your fish can eat in a minute or so.
• Danios, tetras, and barbs GloFish Special Flake food or GloFish® MicroCrisp Food
• GloFish® Sharks and Cory Catfish need GloFish® Wafers.
• Treat all your fish to GloFish® Daphnia Treat that aids in digestion.
