Striped Raphael catfish come from the Rio Parana and are a great addition to a community tank 20 gallons or larger. They tend to be solitary and will be more active in the early morning and evening. They are sometimes called "talking catfish" due to faint noises they can make with their pectoral fins. They do best when they are provided a place to take refuge and fed a sinking diet. We recommend Tetra Pro Cory Wafers. They can be kept singly or in groups though they will largely keep to themselves. While they can get to 8 inches fish over 5 inches are uncommon.
